Lacy and Short Skirt

The Lacy and Short Skirt is designed to dance with the ocean’s rhythm and flirt with the sunlight. Made with an airy and breathable cotton/bamboo blend, it is perfect for your sunny days by the water. The short length allows for easy movement, whether you’re strolling along the shoreline or dipping your toes into the water. The lacy stitch patterns will remind you of seashells on the sandy shore long after your vacation.

Description:

The skirt works from the waistband down. It uses 3 different shell-like stitch patterns. Each subsequent stitch pattern increases the number of stitches and creates a trapezoidal skirt shape.

A tie is added to a waistband, and you can decide how low or high to wear the skirt.

The pattern has 10 sizes, choose your size by hip circumference. If you’re between sizes, go to a bigger size, you’ll have a little extra room and a more swirly skirt.

The pattern is fully written and has charts for all the stitches.

Skills:

Basic crochet stitches (ch, sc, dc). Work in the round. Read charts (video tutorials are included on how to read flat and in the round charts).

Materials:

Yarn: DK (or sport) weight yarn, cotton or bamboo, or blend

449 (505, 589, 674) (730, 786, 842) (898, 982, 1066) yds or 409 (460, 536, 613) (664, 715, 766) (817, 894, 970) m.

Sample made with Universal Yarn Bamboo Pop (50% cotton, 50% bamboo; 292 yds/267 m; 3.5 oz/100 g).

Number of skeins for sizes if using this yarn 2 (2, 3, 3) (3, 3, 3) (4, 4, 4).

Hook: size G/7 (4.5 mm)

Notions: tapestry needle

Gauge: 18 sts x 10 rows = 4”/10 cm in Jumping Shell pattern, blocked

Size: sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) (8, 9, 10) for the hip circumference
